It's all just a game...
No, she wasn't a wanderer by choice. One thing lead to another and before she knew it she was out looking for a new herd to reside in. If she had her way it would be possible for her to remain without a herd. That was wishful thinking. Being a horse was already one strike against her for it. Horses were naturally prey for the bigger predators. She could fight rather well but the woulds could be the things that killed her. Secondly, it was hardwired into horses to live in a herd. Thirdly, she didn't want any unworthy stallions thinking they could just come over and claim her. No, that last thing just wouldn't do. Her old herd- her birth herd- had been an unworthy herd. It was full of the weak and just plain dumb horses. She didn't know why her sire let the herd get in such bad condition. None of that would have been allowed if she could rule. The weak would be sent out to die and be replaced by stronger horses. Liar was just thinking about the good of the herd... kind of. She just hated being around weak creatures. They made her sick.
Remaining in her old her would have been the easy thing, but she wasn't that type of gal. It's also a little hard to remain in a herd once you begin telling the lead stallion he's become too weak to remain lord and fight the lead mare for her position. She had won the fight but her sire was beyond angry so he chased her out. Liar had ran taunting him the entire way. The rest of the herd just stood there- emotionless. Figures though. Her sire being all lowly and weak until it came time to run her out of time. He was playing her, the entire time. He knew she was plotting against him. Well played old man, she thought to herself. She was raised among the best then. Lie to everyone until you've gotta make your move. She was appropriately named then. Beautiful Lie. She was a beautiful mare, and her truths were far and few between. It was a survival tactic.
Her trot slowed to a walk as she entered a very large valley. It wasn't like the lands she had lived on that were rolling hills and lush grasses everywhere. The walls of the valley were sharp stone caked with mud. The ground she was walking on felt the way the walls looked. The ground wasn't stone, just hard dirt. There were pathetic looking patched of greenery as she walked but she wouldn't dare eat them. Even to her this valley was creepy. She kept thinking she heard someone screaming in pain in the distance. That had to be impossible though. There was no one around her. The bay mare walked calmly, unnerved, but not scared. She wasn't the type to scare easily. She was curious as tow hat these new lands would hold for her. Hopefully the horses that lived here wouldn't be as weak or pathetic as the ones she had lived with. That just would do, not at all. So, she walked and looked at the scenery as she went. It was odd that there were no others around. Were these land uninhabited? She didn't know. All she knew was that she really didn't want to turn back and got he way she came.
